![]() This talk is suitable for students taking A-level mathematics and some familiarity with the sample mean and sample variance is assumed. You will have the opportunity to have a go at solving some statistics problems yourself and to vote on answers. In particular, we will look at extrapolation and its limitations and some uses of the normal distribution. We will consider a range of problems in statistics and common misconceptions when solving these.
